Alex Clare – Too Close

Setting

We have different settings around Windsor. The first scene of our film will be at one of our group members houses, Henry’s. This setting is a good place to start off our film as it is set on a straight road so it will be easy to film and can look professional as we can get lots of different angles. Also the house is a warm setting house so the video will look more realistic when the couple are together. Our other setting is the Vansittart Road Skatepark. This is where our chase scene will take place, this setting and environment is more in keeping of the mood of what would happen in this scene. Another setting for our music video is Ward Royal in Windsor this setting is perfect as it is in a industrial estate area. We chose alot of settings for our music video to enhance it and make it more realistic as the more settings we use, the better the video will be and will keep the audience gripped and entertained.

The image we are trying to create in our video is one that will send a clear distinct message to the audience watching the music video. Our narrative based video will create a story like image that will allow the audience to go along with each scene and get immersed in the story. The story is about a boy and girl who are in a relationship, they are in love but the girl is pregnant and is struggling to find a way to tell her boyfriend. They have an argument which leads to the boy leaving the house and walking towards a skatepark. There will be constant cuts to show the constant change between the boyfriend and girlfriend and how they are just too close to ever be together or fully love eachother the line "so ill be on my way" is extremely significant as the lyrics will match the visuals in our video.

Props

We have a minimum amount of props in our music video. We have cigarettes, and we are using a pregnancy test, this is about it for props. Clothing wise we are just wearing casual clothing: Jeans and t-shirt etc.. We’ll have the girl in casual shorts and t-shirt, and we also have a mugger in tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie to portray him being a mugger and also fit the stereotype. We feel it was important that we chose specific props so our target audience (ages 15 - 18) t(of our age so  can relate to our video and the props used.

Cast

We have only a few characters in our video, we will have two male characters and we have a female character also. We have the two main characters: the boyfriend and girlfriend: Reece Smith & Elle Knock.We also have the other character who will be playing the mugger: Calvin Morgan. Peter Eyre will be filming and Henry Kidman  will be Producing.

ThemeOur main theme for the music video is a love, hate relationship. Our theme matches the lyrics and is purely narrative based, for example: When Alex Clare says “I’ll be on my way”, we’ll have the boyfriend walking away from the girlfriend. The theme is quite simple, being too close to love someone that you have to leave them to move on. Relationships are a big part of life and sometimes you have to leave the ones you love.
